Made the steam turret out
of square brass then bent it the same shape as the boiler. Then
I silver soldered a couple round pieces to the ends for
additional valves. With the 3 turbos, 2 air compressors, 2
injectors, blowers, cyl cocks, etc. I needed lots of space
without being too cluttered. Once I drilled and tapped all the
holes, I powder coated it so I wouldn't have to worry about the
paint getting chipped. I temporarily put the valves on to check
clearance and appearance.
Once the turret was mounted on the boiler, it became evident
that the placement of all the valves would not fit without
interfering with other things in the cab so they eventually were
moved around.
